Keep Kids Warm In Winter
By Tabatha Boudreau
If you're from Canada or anywhere else where the temperature can drop below zero degrees, way below zero degrees than you know what it's like to worry about your kids being warm as they walk off to school, or enjoy playing outside. Of course this applies to adults too. We worry about how warm we will be when we face the elements. Dress In Layers A cotton t-shirt or jersey under a sweat shirt or wool sweater. Two pairs of socks. White sweat socks covered with loose fitting wool socks. Put p.j. bottoms or long johns under sweat pants, and then your snow pants -- avoid wearing jeans or thin dress pants when you know you will be outside for a prolonged period of time. Denim will freeze up and feel like it's sticking to you like a ice cube. Cover Up Always make sure your head and the neck are covered. Wearing a hat is simple enough, and a neck warmer will also do the trick but for extra protection and coziness also wear a hoodie which will cover both the back of your neck and your head. Give It A Tuck Wind and snow can easily find it's way up the bottom of your jacket and chill you too the bone. This problem can easily be solved by tucking in your t-shirt and by putting your second pair of socks over your first layer of pants. Now if you have tweens, or teens the struggle is not knowing what keeps them warm but getting them to follow your suggestions. As a mother, I listen to my kids argue about wearing this and that and I wonder: When did it become so cool to freeze your butt off?! |
